I took the photo, which became this painting, while visiting the lovely region of Bavaria and the the Bavarian Alps. This fountain is at Hohenschwangau Castle and sits across the valley from Neuschwanstein Castle "The Disney Castle." The size and boldness of the lion make a dramatic statement against a backdrop of equal command. I haven't given Germany enough attention as of yet, but promise to do so in the future, it is truly a fantastic country.
Growing up on a small family farm in Hubbardsville, New York, Charlotte canít remember not drawing or painting. As an only child, she entertained herself for hours on end, escaping into the world of art. At the age of 11, the family made a drastic move to Florida, where Charlotte continued to find solace in the art world and was fortunate enough to take drawing lessons with AE "Bean" Backus, a well- known Florida artist. He encouraged her to be unique and find her own style as he saw promise in her work and passion.
