Description
It has to be evident how much I love Portofino by all of the paintings that I create of this wonderful gem. Portofino is a fishing village, but it has an air of perpetual festivity. Since the 1950s when European Royalty and American screen idols discovered this wonderful, little hideaway. It has become a mecca for day trippers. In this painting I love the bold colors of the buildings, the water lapping against the shoreline and the boats bouncing up and down on the gentle waves.

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments about this painting. I consider Portofino a painters paradise. I find myself painting it over and over again, it's a hard place to leave.

It seems you were standing in the same spot from which I took one of my photographs of Portofino. Your paintings are beautifull and make me yearn to return to Italy.
