I took the photo which later became this painting while riding the ferry on Lake Como. It was a quick shot I can tell you. I thought we would be docking here but instead the ferry turned to go the other way and I had to be quick to get the one photo that I did get. I am glad I got the shot because I love the painting.
It was early in the morning and the mist was still clinging to the hillside. From what I could see, it seemed as if the village was still in slumber for hardly a soul was stirring and traffic ----well actually there wasn't any!

Growing up on a small family farm in Hubbardsville, New York, Charlotte can't remember not drawing or painting. As an only child, she entertained herself for hours on end, escaping into the world of art.
