I really like the back canals of Venice. The buildings in this one have a lot of character. I like how the alleyway draws your eye deep into the painting and I am dying to know what it looks like around the bend. Close your eyes and listen--you can hear the gondolier signing "Oh Sol Mio;" I love how it echos off the buildings.

Growing up on a small family farm in Hubbardsville, New York, Charlotte can’t remember not drawing or painting. As an only child, she entertained herself for hours on end, escaping into the world of art. At the age of 11, the family made a drastic move to Florida, where Charlotte continued to find solace in the art world and was fortunate enough to take drawing lessons with AE "Bean" Backus, a well- known Florida artist.
